Since 2007 the Cans4Films Festival has been committed to providing tangible hunger relief solutions for thousands of Australians across the country. In 2010, the Cans4Films Festival returns with a targeted local focus, ensuring that communities across Australia are actively helping their neighbours during their toughest times.

During July, Network Video stores will be hosting the Cans4Films Festival, offering themselves up as a collection point for canned food of all descriptions, all of which will be passed onto local hunger relief charities. Designed not just to raise awareness of the important issue of hunger relief, but also to provide aid to those thousands of Australians who rely on relief donations (Network customers and stores have already donated more than 120,000 cans of food); the 2010 Cans4Films Festival promises to be the biggest yet.

The mechanics of the Festival are simple: donate a can of food at your local Network store and get a free weekly rental. If you’re feeling generous, donate two cans and you’ll get three free weekly rentals. You can sit back on your couch, enjoy a good movie and know that you’ve provided some level of comfort to those families who rely on hunger relief efforts.
